Sterling silver is a durable material made with 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% added alloy for strength. Sterling silver has a beautiful high quality shine and is hypoallergenic. While sterling silver can tarnish over time due to air and moisture exposure, it is easily cleaned with a polishing compound or polishing cloth. With proper care, your sterling silver jewelry can stay good as new for decades, while providing a timeless look.
These materials are wonderful both for their price point, workability, and beauty in jewelry. They also have the added bonus of not leaving green marks on your skin! There is a slight chance of this happening with sterling silver when exposed to moisture, but this unlikely effect is harmless and can be easily washed off.
